500Acres Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Boise, Idaho, dedicated to empowering young people with the skills and resources to build affordable homes and thriving communities. We train the next generation of builders, designers, and innovators through hands-on projects and fellowships. Our work focuses on revitalizing rural America by combining sustainable agriculture, innovative housing solutions, and community development. We offer the Yellowstone Fellowship, a unique opportunity for Gen Z to gain experience in areas like agricultural stewardship, artist in residence, and AI integration, ultimately leading to home ownership and a pathway to independence. 500 Acres is committed to fostering a future where everyone has access to safe, affordable housing and the skills to build a better life.

We partner with local communities and experts to provide a holistic approach to development, incorporating elements of Japanese architecture and design principles. Our fellows gain invaluable experience working alongside ranchers, architects, and technology specialists, learning about land surveying with drones and robots, and documenting the impact of community-led initiatives. This immersive experience equips them with the knowledge and skills to become impactful leaders in their fields.
