Aegean Energy & Environment Agency (AEGEA)

The Aegean Energy and Environment Agency (AEGEA) is a non-profit entity founded in 2008 following a call of the European Commission to establish energy agencies at regional level across Europe so as to facilitate the implementation of EU energy and climate policies at local level. The primary goal of AEGEA is to provide island local and regional authorities that are members of DAFNI Network with scientific and strategic advice, so that they can become front-runners of smart and sustainable development. Since its set-up AEGEA has implemented a number of studies and projects in collaboration with national, EU and international partners from the public, private, civil society and academic sectors.
