Aegean Perlites SA was founded in 1994 and started it’s production phase in 2001. It's a private owned company that specializes in the Perlite ore mining and production. The company has rented from the Greek State the North-East Edge of the uninhabited isle of Yiali. The surface, which covers 428 acres, was rented for a minimum 40-year period. The company possesses private loading and storage facilities for its products that have been certified since 2006 according to ISO 9001:2000. Aegean’s products are sold to more than twelve countries worldwide. The company’s products fine quality and high standards, as well as the customer database that AEGEAN PERLITES SA possesses (vast sales network in Europe and the American continent), places the company as a key player in the perlite market worldwide. AEGEAN PERLITES SA has a production capacity of 250,000 tones per year. The size of the production is set at this level so the production unit may be flexible and competitive to the existing demand. Works related to the production process that have been recently completed are: - Pre-crushing perlite unit - Perlite shattering and screening facility - Perlite indoors storage area with a 60.000 ΜΤ total capacity - Conveyor belt network for perlite transport, storage and loading - Private owned bulk perlite loading facility with a loading rate of 500 MT per hour for vessels up to 30.000 ΜΤ.
