Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority

Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority is a government agency based in Akron, Ohio, dedicated to providing affordable housing solutions for low-income residents throughout Summit County. We manage over 4,000 apartments and single-family homes through our public housing program, and administer rental subsidies for over 5,000 households via the Housing Choice Voucher Program. Our commitment is to foster self-sufficiency and a better quality of life for our residents. We partner with numerous public and private entities to address the growing need for affordable housing in the region.

AMHA’s work extends beyond simply providing housing; we offer a range of supportive services designed to empower residents and promote stability. These include the Early Childhood Initiative, Family Self-Sufficiency Program, and the Reach Opportunity Center at Summit Lake View. We also collaborate with landlords to provide housing opportunities to over 3,900 low-income households through our Section 8 program.
