Alliance for Paired Kidney Donation is a US-based nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives through paired kidney donation.

Established in 2006, we provide transplant centers with a Nobel prize-winning algorithm, developed by Alvin Roth PhD, to match incompatible donor-recipient pairs, accelerating transplant outcomes.

Our innovative approach, combined with concierge-level support and a no-penalty, lower-cost system, empowers transplant coordinators to prioritize patient and family support. We’ve facilitated over 15,000 kidney donations through extended altruistic donor chains, including the world’s first non-simultaneous chain in 2007 and a longest chain of 16 transplants.

Through generosity, innovation, and technology, the APKD is transforming the landscape of living kidney donation, and we continue to expand our network of transplant centers across the United States.
