Appliances Recycling S.A. is the official collective system for the Alternative Management of the Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) in Greece. The role of the company is to organize, coordinate and supervise all stages of the electric and electronic waste management, including collection, transport, temporary storage, reuse and treatment of WEEE, so that hazardous substances are eliminated and recovered marerials are streamed back into production. According to the EE principle of producer responsibility, the WEEE recycling cost is financed by producers and importers of electric and electronic equipment based on the product volumes they market in Greece.
