AWAIC

AWAIC is a nonprofit organization based in Anchorage, Alaska, dedicated to providing critical support to survivors of domestic violence. Our core mission is to offer a continuum of services, including a 67-bed emergency shelter and a 24-hour crisis line (907-272-0100), alongside transitional housing, safety planning, and case management.

We serve individuals and families experiencing or who have experienced domestic violence in the Anchorage community and surrounding areas. We address the complex needs of survivors by offering a holistic approach that encompasses immediate safety, long-term housing solutions, and vital support services.

AWAIC distinguishes itself through its unwavering commitment to advocacy, compassion, and dignity, ensuring that every survivor receives the personalized care and resources they need to rebuild their lives. Founded in 1977, AWAIC has grown to become a cornerstone of the community, providing a safe haven and empowering individuals to break free from cycles of abuse. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
