BCarbon

Established in 2020, BCarbon is a nonprofit carbon registry and climate research center with roots at Rice University’s Baker Institute. We bring scientific rigor, transparency, and radical collaboration to nature-based climate solutions and the voluntary carbon market. Our model is built on openness. Through public bi-monthly BCarbon Advisory Group meetings, public consultations, and specialized technical groups, we create a space where project developers, scientists, policymakers, and community members work side-by-side to shape the next generation of high-integrity carbon credits. Today, we support projects in 7 countries across 5 continents, and our network is expanding rapidly as organizations seek trustworthy, science-backed pathways for climate impact.
