Biomimetic is a new startup company based in Heraklion, Crete. The company specialized on surface engineering via ultrashort laser pulses. We use laser light to functionalize all classes of solid surfaces with features inspired by nature. Applications of the Company: Antireflective surfaces We are introducing anti-reflective surfaces via laser treatment, inspired by the glasswing butterfly Greta Oto whose transparent region of the wing has anti-reflection properties. Friction Tuning Reduce or Increase the friction of the material by using the tweaking a specific biomimetic surface and/or use combinations of different biomimetic surfaces
