Biovegetal - Combustíveis Biológicos e Vegetais

Biovegetal is one of the largest producers of renewable energy in Portugal, delivering biodiesel to Portugal and other European countries. Founded in 2006, Biovegetal has its headquarters and factories in Vila Franca de Xira – Alhandra. Starting with a transesterification plant to produce biofuels from vegetable oils as soyabean oil and rapeseed oil, in 2015 built a physical refinery / pre-treatment unit to develop alternative energy from waste, namely used cooking oil, tallow and more recently food waste, continuously encouraging the development of “circular”/renewable economy. Biovegetal benefits from a multi-hub logistic infrastructure consisting of road access to the main highway in Portugal, loading rack, railway terminals and rented storage tanks dedicated to biodiesel throughput in a deepwater oil and lpg terminal in the Port of Lisbon.
