Black Education Strategy Roundtable

Black Education Strategy Roundtable is a nonprofit organization based in Tacoma, Washington, dedicated to advancing educational equity for Black/African-American students.

We work to amplify Black voices in the critical conversations surrounding education reform, specifically addressing achievement and opportunity gaps within Washington State’s public education system.

Our core mission is to increase educational attainment for all students, particularly Black students, through research, advocacy, and community empowerment. We provide resources and support to families and communities, and actively engage in legislative efforts to improve educational outcomes.

Founded in 2006, BESR has a dedicated team of 5 professionals and a strong network of partners, committed to creating a more just and equitable educational landscape.
