Black Physicians Network of Greater Rochester

The Black Physicians Network of Greater Rochester is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing health disparities experienced by Black communities in Rochester, New York, and beyond. Founded in 2015, our mission is to increase the number of Black physicians through mentorship, fundraising, and networking, ultimately fostering a more equitable healthcare system. We achieve this by connecting current physicians with aspiring medical students and residents, providing crucial resources for program development, and building strategic partnerships with community organizations.

As a collective of over 60 experienced Black physicians – including MDs, PhDs, DOs, and those with advanced degrees – we leverage our expertise to address systemic barriers and promote health equity. Our work directly supports the pipeline of Black healthcare professionals, contributing to a more diverse and representative medical field, and improving the health outcomes of underserved populations. We are committed to data-driven solutions and collaborative efforts to dismantle racial inequities in healthcare.
