Blue Roads Solutions (“Blue Roads”) provides liquefied natural gas (LNG) for industrial burners, off-grid power generation, boilers, CHP, high horse power and other burner tip applications including natural gas fueling systems. Founded in 2013, Blue Roads’ platform was created with a specific initial focus on converting off-grid asphalt plants (located away from pipelines) to run on LNG as a displacement to recycled fuel oil (RFO) and diesel emissions. Blue Roads was the first company dedicated to the delivery of LNG to the high horsepower road construction industry in the US and has since grown to become the largest provider of LNG to the aggregates industry in North America. By providing LNG, Blue Roads offers its customers a safe, efficient, reliable and cost effective alternative to RFO and diesel, with minimal equipment modification. This comprehensive fueling solution from fuel source to fuel consumption enables Blue Roads’ customers to maximize efficiencies, increase equipment reliability and lower overall operating costs. Blue Roads is currently involved in a variety of projects including power applications, marine, rail, and transportation fuel, some of which span in to Canada as well as Mexico. Blue Roads was the 2nd portfolio company investment of BP Energy Partners, a Dallas-based private equity fund. BP Energy Partners was founded by T. Boone Pickens’ private markets investment team to take advantage of the paradigm shift in North America’s energy future resulting from an abundant supply of natural gas and the expectation of relatively lower natural gas prices. BP Energy Partners focuses on investment opportunities that benefit from the price dislocation between natural gas and other energy sources.
