Cathedral House lies directly opposite and overlooks the Glasgow Necropolis and is adjacent to Glasgow Cathedral and Glasgow Royal Infirmary. In addition both Strathclyde University and Glasgow College are a short stroll away. Other historic buildings within the immediate vicinity include the Glasgow Evangelical Church, an A listed building dating from 1878 and the Provand's Lordship House, a medieval period historic house built in 1471.
