Challenge Alaska

Challenge Alaska is a nonprofit organization based in Anchorage, Alaska, dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities through adaptive sports and therapeutic recreation.

We provide a wide range of programs, including adaptive downhill skiing, snowboarding, cycling, handcycling, sled hockey, and wheelchair basketball, designed to foster personal growth, build confidence, and promote inclusion.

Challenge Alaska’s approach centers on creating accessible and supportive environments where participants can experience the joy of sport and recreation, regardless of their physical abilities. We are committed to expanding access to adaptive sports and recreation across Alaska and beyond, serving veterans, individuals with spinal cord injuries, amputations, and other disabilities. Our programs are staffed by experienced professionals and volunteers, and we continually seek to innovate and improve our offerings to meet the evolving needs of our community.

Founded in 1980, Challenge Alaska has grown to serve over 1,000 participants annually and has a strong reputation for excellence in adaptive sports programming.
