Clos Figueras was acquired by Charlotte and Christopher Cannan in 1997. The estate covers 22 hectares in the heart of the Priorat. Approximately 12 hectares are planted with Garnacha, Carignan, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Viognier, Garnacha Blanca and Chenin Blanc. The 2500 old Garnacha and Cariñena vines planted in the 1930’s contribute to our prestigious Clos Figueres wine. The location is just north of the renown village of Gratallops on steep terraces of pure llicorela soil sloping down to the Montsant river at an altitude of between 300 and 500 metres. The poor rocky soil, orientation of the vineyard and the extremely low yield (12 hectolitres / hectare) contribute to the outstanding personality and finesse of the Clos Figueras wines (DOQ Priorat).
