Commander, Submarines NATO is the leading submarine operations focal point for NATO, providing critical expertise and coordination for submarine activities across the Alliance. Based in Northwood, northwest London, within Allied Maritime Command (MARCOM), we support the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) in conducting maritime operations. Our work encompasses submarine operations, exercises, doctrine, and advocacy, ensuring NATO’s maritime capabilities are robust and aligned. We are a key element of MARCOM, the central command for all NATO maritime forces, and play a vital role in maintaining maritime security and stability. We support a wide range of activities, from strategic planning to operational execution, contributing to the overall defense posture of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Our team of experts focuses on submarine-related matters, offering specialized support to NATO’s maritime domain.
