Participatory budgeting might seem a far-fetched approach and method if we want to involve young people in the life and development of cities. It might seem complicated. Or if not set up the right way, participatory budgeting can create an even bigger lack of participation among young people. Com’ON Europe took birth because of these challenges but also because the cities of Turin, Braga, Maribor, Thessaloniki, Cluj-Napoca, Varna and Cascais thought they have original solutions to these challenges. Com’ON Europe is the first European cooperation project which put participatory budgeting for youth to the epicentre of its objectives.
