Compost Utah is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering sustainable communities across the Wasatch Front. We empower schools to establish and maintain thriving composting programs, diverting organic waste from landfills and returning nutrient-rich compost to local gardens and farms. Our work directly supports environmental education, providing students with hands-on opportunities to engage in civic service and learn about the critical importance of composting and waste reduction.

We partner with restaurants, farms, and school cafeterias to collect compostable materials, creating a closed-loop system that benefits both the environment and the community. Compost Utah’s mission is to cultivate a more sustainable future, one school, one compost pile at a time.
