Credicom plans to launch a clean, agile Greek Challenger Bank to service the core banking needs of businesses and mass affluent households. Credicom is sponsored by Atlas Merchant Capital LLC, a New York-based investment firm seeking compelling market opportunities in the financial services sector and co-founded by Robert Edward “Bob” Diamond, Jr., the former Group Chief Executive of Barclays Plc and David Schamis, a former Managing Director and member of the Management Committee of J.C. Flowers. Credicom is led by Anastasia Sakellariou, the former Chief Executive Officer of the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund.
