Cumberland Trial Advocacy Board is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering exceptional trial advocacy skills among Cumberland University School of Law students in Birmingham, Alabama. Established in 1847, we provide a unique and intensive trial advocacy program, consistently ranked among the top law schools nationally by U.S. News & World Report. Our method, pioneered by Judge Abraham Caruthers, emphasizes hands-on trial practice from the first year, equipping students with the strategic and tactical thinking essential for success in any legal career. We offer a comprehensive curriculum encompassing litigation skills, alternative dispute resolution, negotiation, mediation, and client counseling, alongside opportunities to compete at regional and national levels.
