Dhalings Kitchen On a warm summer evening of 2018, one of our company founders, Chef Nitisha, was sat on the balcony of her rented 1 bedroom London flat eating a bowl of her mum’s Dhal and rice. All it took was for 1 spoonful, for Nitisha to be transported back to her childhood. As a child, no Saturday was complete without Dhal Bhaath- fragrant Basmati rice served with a flavoursome, aromatic and soul hugging, hearty lentil soup. Reminded of her love for dhal, not long after the trip down memory lane, Nitisha had signed a contract with publishers Ryland Peters & Small Ltd for her second cookery book, The Delicious Book Of Dhal. A vegan and vegetarian cookery book concept showcasing lentils as the focal ingredient for starters, snacks, main meals and desserts. Given the popularity of her dhal and plant based recipes, Nitisha wanted to explore how she can take the concept to the next level. Which is when and how Dhalings was born. Dhalings is a revolutionary take away food brand pioneering plant based South Asian meals. The menu prides itself on fresh, fun, exciting, casual, informal, street food style dining. Food that takes you on a journey from the comfort of your own home. Years in the making, Dhalings has been on quite a journey, and after perfecting our family favourite recipes, we are ready to take you on a culinary adventure with us.
