Dimitri House is a Rochester, New York-based non-profit organization dedicated to providing vital support to individuals and families experiencing food and housing insecurity. For over 40 years, we’ve been serving the Greater Rochester community with compassion and dedication, offering a spectrum of services including a Drop-in Lunch Program, Emergency Food Cupboard, and Affordable Safe Housing (DASH). We strive to empower our neighbors on their journey toward self-sufficiency, embodying a commitment to dignity and respect. Dimitri House’s impact extends to over 16,000 individuals annually, reflecting our unwavering mission to create a community where no one goes hungry or lacks a safe place to call home.

Founded in 1985 in honor of Dimitri Mamczur, a local man who lived in two taped-together cardboard boxes under an expressway bridge, Dimitri House has grown from a small outreach ministry to a recognized provider of comprehensive support. Our personalized approach, with a dedicated team and limited full-time staff, allows us to cultivate deep connections with our clients and offer tailored assistance.

Dimitri House operates five key programs: Drop-in Lunch Program, Emergency Food Cupboard, Dimitri Affordable Safe Housing (DASH), Mamczur Place, and Adopt-a-Family Thanksgiving Program. We are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (EIN 16-1587868) and continue to honor Dimitri’s legacy by serving those in need with love and acceptance.
