Dueling Dragons of Orlando

Dueling Dragons of Orlando is a nonprofit organization based in Orlando, Florida, dedicated to fostering positive relationships between Orlando’s law enforcement officers and inner-city youth through the sport of dragon boating.

Our mission is to use the unifying power of dragon boat racing to break down stereotypes, build trust, and create lasting friendships. We select teen paddlers from Orlando’s community centers, providing them with a unique opportunity to interact with officers from the Orlando Police Department, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, and Orlando Fire Department.

Through this program, participants gain valuable life skills, improve their academic performance, and develop a deeper understanding of diverse perspectives. We are profoundly grateful for the support of our community, corporate partners, and individual donors, who enable us to continue our impactful work.

Since 2015, Dueling Dragons has served over 172 youth paddlers, achieving a 100% high school graduation rate and a 100% GPA above 2.0, while maintaining a 100% record of no school dropouts or arrests. We honor the legacy of Lt. Debra Clayton, a dedicated program mentor whose spirit continues to inspire us.
