Duke University Motorsports

Duke University Motorsports is a Durham, North Carolina-based engineering team providing students with a hands-on, iterative design project.

As a student group at Duke University, we focus on the education and success of our members, fostering creativity and problem-solving skills.

Each year, the team designs, builds, and tests an open-wheel formula-style race car, representing Duke Engineering at FSAE Michigan and preparing students to be active leaders and problem-solvers. We manufacture the majority of the car’s parts, including the engine, shocks, and tires, while sourcing others like the engine itself from a Honda motorcycle, allowing for extensive customization and a significant degree of design freedom.

We are dedicated to promoting STEM fields and producing well-prepared students, encouraging members to prioritize academics and contribute to a culture of safety.
