To unite our knowledge and experience in the fields of conservation biology and GIS data analysis and available technical means in order to provide an assessment of a project’s potential and current impact on sensitive birds to wind turbines. TO PROTECT BIRDS THROUGH RESULT-DRIVEN EXPERTISE FOR A SAFE AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY WIND POWER INDUSTRY There are around 280 000 wind turbines worldwide. They are mostly concentrated within developed countries with high energetic demands. Wind turbine generators (WTGs) are often constructed at locations with constant wind currents, which are also used by migratory birds. This interaction between technology and wildlife has a direct impact on the life-cycle of birds, since biannual migrations are constrained by seasonality. By synchronizing our actions with a deep understanding about the morphology, ontogeny and behaviour about each high-risk bird species, we can restore a harmonious state of balance between green energy and nature. We propose a combination of all available information about sensitive bird species, a deep knowledge and understanding of bird ecology with the high tech innovations in communication and satellite tracking. Our greatest strengths are the qualifications and expertise of our team. All members have more than 10 years of experience in bird collision risk evaluation and mitigation. The team consists of experts in the fields of bird ecology, ethology, conversation, compensation measures and risk management.
