ECOntACT is a non-profit, non-partisan and independent organization. It has been founded in 2012 by engineers who believe in the overall development of the quality of life, achieved through projects that take as a reference the respect of culture, the identity of each people, awareness, education, research and the application of most appropriate techniques for the better management of environmental resources.The idea behind the association is to make available to associations, NGOs , government and citizenship, the skills and expertise of its members, particularly in the technical field . Members of ECOntACT have work experience in various fields of engineering, environmental education and communication, design of Eco-Building, renewable energy, international cooperation, implementation and management of local and international projects and strongly believe in ethical value of their work. AIM AND ACTIVITIES ECOntACT aims to offer technical and qualified support throughout research, design and capacity building on appropriate technologies and environmental management at local level and within international cooperation projects. Main areas of activity are: • International cooperation Promotion, participation and implementation of international cooperation projects on renewable energy, water, wastewater and solid waste management • Local participation Promotion, participation and implementation of projects, initiatives and events at local level in the field of renewable energy, the defense of common goods, waste reduction and resource protection • Consulting and co-planning Support and consultancy on environmental management to any reality ( ecovillages , camping , communities , schools , etc ) through participatory approaches and co-planning • Education and awareness increasing Design and implementation of courses and workshops for schools and citizens on self- construction, self-production, appropriate technologies, permaculture, sustainability, environmental management Awareness increasing and information on the environment and its resources, common goods , appropriate technologies, environmental education, conscious consumption, permaculture, international cooperation, social inequalities - Networking promotion and awareness increasing of societies and cultures of the countries where international cooperation projects are implemented; development of partnerships and projects with private and public organizations, associations and national and international bodies to achieve the aims of the association.
