The Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI) is an international, nonprofit, technical society comprised of engineers, geoscientists, architects, planners, public officials, and social scientists - (https://www.eeri.org/). Our student chapter is dedicated to the advancement of earthquake engineering education and research for the purpose of reducing seismic hazard worldwide.
The Structural Engineers Association of Southern California (SEAOSC) exists to empower the regional community of structural engineers and advance the profession, by way of providing technical resources, community engagement, professional development, and policy advocacy - (https://seaosc.org/). Our student chapter is interested in engaging with local professionals for the purpose of serving our community with relevance and excellence in structural engineering.
Our chapter hosts research roundtables for students to become familiar with departmental research initiatives, in addition to organizing professional guest speakers and field trips to partner offices across Southern California. Our chapter is open to all students in the Civil & Environmental Engineering Department, as well as related fields (architecture, urban planning, etc.).
