Fairlanguage guides companies, organizations and institutions on their journey toward more inclusive and conscious communication. We believe that language shapes reality and our behavior. How we communicate influences our social interactions and society: that why it's important to address discriminatory structures in language. Not being acknowledged in language means you’re out of sight and out of mind. Direct and indirect discrimination in language adds additional hurdles to daily day. Being invisible, unvalued, and forgotten leads to being left out of the social structures and professional environments. We are certain that it makes communication better when we include and embrace all people and their perspectives. In an equitable and diverse society, every person can take part and is taken into account. Inclusive language is how we are doing our part to achieve this goal. We are committed to increasing awareness of inclusive language without being prescriptive or dogmatic. In our programs, we provide opportunities to learn about gender-based discrimination, racism, and ableism – as well as practical and concrete advice. We aim to encourage and support people to become more conscious of and inclusive in how they use language. Fairlanguage helps break down barriers to more authentic, inclusive and effective communication.
