Fines and Fees Justice Center

The Fines and Fees Justice Center is a national center for advocacy, information, and collaboration dedicated to reforming the justice system in the United States. Based in New York, we work to eliminate abusive fines and fees that disproportionately impact low-income communities and communities of color, creating a more equitable and just system for all. Through strategic partnerships with advocates, policymakers, and affected communities across Nevada, New Mexico, Florida, and New York, we drive impactful change by developing model reforms, creating a National Clearinghouse, and supporting local efforts to end unjust fees. Our work focuses on comprehensive reform, ensuring fines are proportional to the offense and that individuals are not trapped in cycles of debt and punishment. We are committed to restoring integrity to the justice system and promoting public safety and community prosperity through equitable funding.
