Florida Space Institute

Florida Space Institute is a leading research institute based in Orlando, Florida, dedicated to advancing space exploration and development. Since 1996, FSI, an integral part of the State University System of Florida and affiliated with the University of Central Florida, has been at the forefront of space research, encompassing areas like planetary science, propulsion technologies, and satellite development.

We support a diverse range of activities, from studying the Earth’s upper atmosphere to developing technologies for high-Mach aerospace vehicles. FSI administratively houses the Florida Space Grant Consortium (FSGC) and operates the Space Research Initiative (SRI) for the State of Florida, fostering collaboration across academia, government, and industry.

Our commitment extends to providing educational opportunities, including K-12 programs and research experiences, and we actively seek partnerships to accelerate space exploration and research.
