FONSEA - Fondo Pensione delle Società Esercizi Aeroportuali
Overview
The employees' pension fund “Fondo Pensione delle Società Esercizi Aeroportuali – FONSEA” is a pre-existing pension fund, constituted in the form of an unrecognized association and operating in defined contribution scheme (the amount of pension benefit is determined as a function of contributions made and its yields), established in order to ensure its subscribers an additional pension than that guaranteed by the public social security system.
In 1989, between the SEA Airport and the regional unions’ secretariats FILT/CGIL, FIT-CISL, UILT/UIL was entered into an agreement that provides for the creation of social security and social interventions in favor of staff SEA (Airports of Milan Linate and Milan Malpensa). With this act, unions wanted to interpret the need expressed by workers of a higher level of social security and welfare coverage than that provided by public bodies. In order to efficiently answer this needs, in 1990, after the workers assemblies held at Linate and Malpensa, was formed the “Cassa di Previdenza per i Lavoratori dipendenti della SEA di Milano".
The initiative, starting within SEA, was extended over the years to other airports. In 1996, in accordance with the rules laid down in Leg. Dec. No. 124/1993, were separated the welfare activities (complementary pensions), forming the current Pension Fund FONSEA, from the outreach (health care) managed by the Health Fund.
FONSEA is No. 1126 in the register kept by the COVIP, pension supervisory Authority.
