The D’Amato family’s maritime transport activity was established in 1870. Within the span of five generations, the company – which became Fratelli D’Amato S.p.A. in the second part of the last century – has become a strong and consistent figure in the international maritime sector. It is now directed by its President, il Cavaliere del Lavoro Luigi D’Amato. (*) FRATELLI D' AMATO, traditionally operating in dry cargo shipping, has diversified its activities during the last decade investing in the field of liquid cargo and off shore support for oil platforms. Also notable are the recent real estate investments in Europe, Asia, and the United States. However, its principal activity remains the transportation of raw materials by its own fleet of modern Panamax and Capesize units and third party chartered ships. FRATELLI D' AMATO is a shipping company and technical administrator recognized by the Italian Administration for coal, oil, and chemical bearing vessels and oil platform supply vessels. The oil tankers in the Fratelli D’Amato fleet are approved by the major oil companies of the world (Shell, BP, Chevron, Exxon, Repsol, Total Agip, etc.) and are managed conforming to TMSA (Tank Management and Self-Assessment). Furthermore, Fratelli D’Amato is certified according to ISO 9001: 2001 and ISO 14001: 2004, for quality and environmental compliance with international standards. From its headquarters in Naples, the operative and technical activities of the fleet are monitored, while the offices in Lausanne, London, Aberdeen and Shanghai are responsible for the financial and commercial aspects.
