Greaux Healthy

Greaux Healthy is an evidence-based public service initiative based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, dedicated to preventing and treating childhood obesity across the state. As a partnership between LSU’s Pennington Biomedical Research Center and the State of Louisiana, we provide accessible resources and tools to families, schools, healthcare providers, and concerned community members. Our mission is to empower individuals to make healthier choices and combat the rising rates of childhood obesity in Louisiana, which currently ranks fourth highest nationally. We offer a comprehensive suite of evidence-based programs, including a Treatment Toolkit, School Health Programs, and resources for expectant parents, teens, and young adults. Greaux Healthy leverages over 35 years of research from Pennington Biomedical, a recognized leader in obesity research, to ensure our interventions are grounded in the latest scientific findings. We are committed to creating a healthier future for Louisiana’s children, addressing the significant economic burden associated with childhood obesity – estimated at $127 million annually – and reducing the risk of long-term health complications like diabetes and heart disease.
