Grow-Trees.com is a social enterprise launched and dedicated to the Planet on World Environment Day, June 5, 2010. We aim to inculcate the practice amongst companies and individuals worldwide to plant trees in public lands through the web to greet or honor someone by means of an e-certificate with a personalized message. Individuals can plant trees to celebrate birthdays, festivals, anniversaries or any special occasion. Numerous studies have shown that companies demonstrating green initiatives are preferred by potential customers and employees, and also obtain a higher valuation in the stock markets if listed. Goodyear India launched its green tires in association with Grow-Trees.com. Companies such as Nokia, Ernst & Young, SBI Life Insurance, Franklin Templeton, Kotak Credit Cards, HSBC Asset Management, Conde Nast, Thomas Cook, iGate Patni, Tata Teleservices and dozens of others are planting trees to celebrate employee birthdays or anniversaries, honor dealers, distributors or suppliers, honor customers and acknowledge dignitaries, achieving a private purpose while doing social good . We are an official partner of the United Nations Environment Program’s Billion Tree Campaign and WWF’s Cities for Forests Campaign. The trees planted will provide flowers, fruit, fodder and fuel to communities and living creatures, improve water catchment areas, and benefit posterity while decarbonizing the world.
