Haitian Graduate Students and Early Career Professionals Alliance (HGSECPA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to uniting, empowering, and mobilizing Haitian graduate students and early career scientists worldwide. Based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, we address longstanding challenges in Haitian scientific research by fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the active involvement of both local and diaspora scientists. Our work focuses on bridging the gap between the Haitian diaspora and those within Haiti, promoting scientific innovation, sustainable development, and positive change for our beloved country.

We provide resources, networking opportunities, and a platform for collective action, contributing to Haiti’s position in the global scientific community and bolstering its resilience. HGSECPA tackles the historical issues of limited funding and institutional support that have hindered scientific progress in Haiti, aiming to reverse the brain drain and create a thriving, interconnected community of Haitian scientists.
