Homegrown Capital is a South Dakota-based venture capital firm specializing in early-stage investments in technology-driven companies across the Midwest and Northern Plains. We empower innovative businesses – particularly in B2B software, AgTech, FinTech, and media/subscription sectors – by providing hands-on partnership, board-level guidance, and strategic connections to accelerate growth and achieve long-term success. Founded in 2021 by General Partners Tim Weelborg and Matt Paulson, Homegrown Capital leverages deep regional networks to demonstrate that world-class businesses can thrive ‘between the coasts.’ With a focus on Seed to Series A rounds ($500,000 - $2 million), we actively participate in our portfolio companies, fostering a collaborative environment for innovation and expansion. Since launching our inaugural $17.2 million fund, we’ve supported a diverse range of innovators, including Grain Weevil, Prismatic, and Soiltech Wireless, and are currently focused on meeting growing founder demand with our sophomore fund targeting $30 million.
