i understand is a Michigan-based non-profit organization dedicated to providing compassionate support to individuals and communities impacted by suicide loss and mental health challenges. Founded in 2014 by Vonnie Woodrick in memory of her husband, i understand offers monthly educational awareness events and delivers mental health care packages through a partnership with Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, reaching families worldwide. Our mission is to erase the stigma and judgment surrounding mental illness and suicide, fostering a culture of understanding and support. We provide comfort and resources to those grieving the loss of a loved one and to individuals navigating their own mental health journeys. i understand’s work directly addresses the critical need for accessible mental health resources and a supportive community for those facing immense hardship. We are committed to creating a lasting impact by raising awareness, promoting healing, and advocating for improved mental health care.
