Founded by two archaeologists, Iberian Heritage Tours is dedicated to showcasing the rich heritage, archaeology, and culture of the Alentejo region of Portugal and southwest Spain, with Évora just 1h30m away from Lisbon by car or 2h by bus. Since 2018, we have been providing informal tours in the Alentejo region for our international teams of archaeological field school students. With the founding of Iberian Heritage Tours, we aim to offer a distinctive experience for visitors to Portugal and Spain. While major cities like Lisbon, Porto, and Madrid are undoubtedly great destinations, the interior is far less explored. As a result, the Alentejo has the potential to provide more authentic glimpses into Iberia’s past and present. The region boasts picturesque rolling hills, striking mountain villages, prehistoric monuments, Roman-era remnants, and medieval castles. We provide day-long tours in English and Portuguese for small groups, as well as shorter, single-destination tours for those with limited time.
