ICARB : The Initiative for Carbon Accounting

ICARB is a leading Scottish initiative dedicated to establishing transparent, consistent, and accurate carbon accounting rules across diverse sectors. Based in Edinburgh, we support academics, policymakers, and professionals in advancing the field of carbon accounting to facilitate meaningful emissions reductions and contribute to a sustainable society. Since 2005, ICARB has organized over 24 high-level workshops and 5 conferences, fostering collaboration among more than 500 individuals from over 100 organizations.

We provide services to build consensus and knowledge exchange, and disseminate best practices, establishing ICARB as a trusted resource for carbon accounting in Scotland and globally. Our work is supported by the Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation, Heriot-Watt University, the Crichton Carbon Centre, and Glasgow Caledonian University.
