Inclusive Woods and Us

Inclusive Woods and Us is a Rochester, New York-based nonprofit dedicated to expanding equitable access to the outdoors for children, families, and communities of color. Recognizing that race and income significantly impact access to nature and its vital health benefits, we work to address disparities in outdoor experiences, particularly in urban environments. Our mission is to improve the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of vulnerable populations by connecting them with enriching outdoor opportunities – from local parks and urban trails to wilderness experiences.

We believe that time spent in nature is a fundamental human need, and we are committed to ensuring that everyone, regardless of background, has the chance to experience its transformative power. We provide programs and resources that foster a deeper connection with the natural world, promoting health, resilience, and a sense of belonging. We are building a movement to create a more just and equitable world, one outdoor experience at a time.
