Instant Runoff Voting for Texas

Instant Runoff Voting for Texas is a Houston, Texas-based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the adoption of instant runoff voting (IRV), also known as ranked choice voting (RCV), across Texas. We champion a more inclusive and representative electoral system, recognizing that IRV fosters greater voter choice, strengthens candidate campaigns, and ultimately leads to more broadly supported outcomes. Unlike other RCV initiatives, our focus is on Texas-specific legislative action, advocating for changes to the state's election laws. We strive to ensure every Texan's voice is heard and valued in every election, moving beyond the limitations of the traditional first-past-the-post system. With a team of dedicated volunteers and a clear vision, we are committed to building a more democratic and responsive Texas.
