Institute Capital is a Durham, North Carolina-based CDFI providing debt and investment capital to affordable housing developers, community-based development organizations (CBDOs), and small businesses.

As a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), we seek to revitalize and transform diverse communities through affordable housing, entrepreneurship, HBCU collaborations, and community development. We focus on high-impact lending to borrowers who often lack access to capital from mainstream financial institutions, fostering thriving economies in underserved populations.

Institute Capital distinguishes itself through a commitment to equitable access to capital and strategic partnerships with organizations driving positive community impact. We support a range of initiatives, including affordable housing development, small business growth, and HBCU business collaborations, with a total impact of over $620 million in commercial development and housing, $101 million in capital investment, and the deployment of 12,000+ jobs.
