Kernel Sistemi S.r.l. designs, manufactures and trades electronic devices for many different sectors. In particular, photovoltaic products for utility-scale solar power plants and electrical devices for industrial automation have been the main areas of interest for many years. Our company is based in Italy, and every stage of production is carried out in-house. Regarding the renewable energy market, Kernel produces photovoltaic String Monitoring Units (SMUs) both with shunt and hall effect sensor technology. More than 60 types of SMUs are available both for monitoring new photovoltaic installations and for retrofitting existing solar plants. All Kernel String Monitoring Units are characterized by high accuracy and very low temperature drift, and data can be transmitted by serial RS485, optical fiber or wireless. Our models are equipped with 8 to 32 channels and they can measure currents of 15 to 45 Amps per channel. Nowadays, more than 35 Gigawatts are monitored with Kernel PV String Monitoring Units. Industrial automation represents another significant market for our business. Specifically, Kernel Sistemi manufactures visualized PLCs, compact PLCs and PLCs with integrated HMI for a variety of industrial sectors.
