Knectar

Knectar was founded in 2005 with a mission to provide high-end web programming, development, and technical consultation services in support of businesses, non-profits, and in partnership with design agencies and advertising firms. Our team is comprised of twelve technical project managers and programmers. Knectar’s technology focus and core competency is in the architecture and production of advanced, customized open source applications, including content management systems, e-commerce applications, and generalized applications and custom API’s (application programming interfaces). We have had the good fortune of partnering with some of luminaries of the advertising and design world, as well as multiple elite university departments in the development of sites and applications for JackDaniels.com, Harvard Medical School, MIT, L’Oreal, Topps (Sports Cards), among many other organizations and brands. As a firm, and following an extensive internal due diligence process beginning in 2006, Knectar has adopted Drupal as our preferred Content Management System (CMS), and general application framework. The decision to commit to Drupal was also guided by due diligence involving extensive developer research and open source community participation via conferences and our own Drupal.org contributions. For e-commerce applications, following a similar path to of research and experimentation, Knectar is largely utilizing Magento Community and Enterprise Editions. Depending on the requirements, other e-commerce frameworks may be recommended, including Shopify, which notably has matured significantly in recent years. In addition to development services, we are also production management specialists. We have worked with very large scopes and under sometimes severe time-frame constraints. We excel at arriving at feasible production models that capture the critical business priorities for a given budget / time-line context.
