Overview
Kyano (: Κυανό) is the Ancient Greek name of cyan, the greenish-blue colour.
Ancient Greeks had no words to describe blue other than glauko or kyano. Homer, the legendary author of the Iliad and the Odyssey, described the colour of blindingly glowing sky as brass. Aristotle, the philosopher, had identified 7 different colours that he believed to come from black and white, while in reality were degrees of brightness, not colour.
However colours are the same for all over the world, the language is used to describe them has a major impact of how we get influenced, inspired and finally understand them.
Cyan, the color of the water in lagoons, the colour of magnificent Ionian Sea, the blue shades of Aegean and the bright sky are all naturally related to the historic tradition and artistic expression in whole mentality and latitude of Greece.
Inspired by life experiences, travelling and the natural colours of life, Kyano is delighted to present handmade designs and wishes to make your mind travel through illustrated art. Enjoy them printed on paper goods and gifts specially made for you and your loved ones!
