Overview
The Incorporation of Maltmen in Glasgow focuses on helping those in need and assisting in education, particularly within the drinks and hospitality industry.
Today's Maltmen represent an ancient craft that dates back to prehistoric times with a rich history in Scotland. This Registered Charity is more relevant now than ever, representing people that work in the Scottish Licensed Trade, which as an industry has been impacted greatly as a consequence of Covid-19.
The Maltmen donate money to a variety of charities each year including HIT Scotland (Hospitality Industry Trust) encouraging the development of anyone working or studying in the sector, Scottish Disability Golf & Curling, the Scottish Licensed Trade Benevolent Society and Geeza Break which supports both carers and those that receive care. We also help support pensioners in need by providing general assistance and donating goods.
We have strong links with various educational bodies, focusing in particular on extending skills in brewing, the drinks industry and hospitality. We also aim to support all our members and those requiring our assistance at every stage of their career and help them reach their full potential. Every part of the industry is supported; business owners, managers, staff, students and suppliers.
