Materra is a regenerative cotton + tech company that designs and implements agricultural programs to help fashion meet its ambitious sourcing and impact goals — with the data to prove it. Working with and for smallholder farmers, they build custom regenerative cotton farming programs and supply chains that are climate-resilient, traceable and equitable. Through their AI-powered proprietary technology, they are digitalizing the base of the fashion supply chain, providing fashion brands and textile mills with what they most need today: data to stay compliant with regulations, supply chain insurance against climate disruption, true connection with the farmers they partner with and rich stories to communicate with consumers. Co-founded by Edward Brial, Edward Hill and John Bertolaso in 2019, Materra’s multidisciplinary team comprises designers, engineers, farmers, agronomists, implementation experts and impact analysts, and is based in London, UK and Ahmedabad, India.
