Mental Health Crisis Center of Lancaster County

Mental Health Crisis Center of Lancaster County is a government agency located in Lincoln, Nebraska, providing critical crisis stabilization services to individuals detained under Nebraska Civil Commitment Statutes.

We serve acutely mentally ill adults, age 18 and older, within Region V, offering a vital safety net for those experiencing severe psychiatric distress. Our primary goal is to ensure their well-being and facilitate a safe return to the community, minimizing the need for extended inpatient care.

The Mental Health Crisis Center distinguishes itself through its commitment to comprehensive medical and psychological evaluations within 36 hours of admission, coupled with short-term intensive treatment to stabilize patients’ functioning. We also prioritize rapid linkages with other mental health and substance abuse programs, fostering a seamless transition back to the community. We are dedicated to supporting individuals and their families during challenging times, promoting access to essential care and resources.

Established in 1989, the Crisis Center has a long history of serving the Lancaster County community, and currently employs 13 staff members.
