Overview
Robotics has many exciting applications in a number of sectors, including healthcare, agri-food, agile manufacturing, and inspection and maintenance. With these four sectors in mind, the EU-funded METRICS project aims to organise competitions as reproducible and objective evaluation campaigns. Each competition will consist of three field and three data-based evaluation campaigns. In order to achieve rigorous and unbiased assessments of different competing robots, the project will develop an evaluation framework using metrological principles. These competitions will contribute to structure the European robotics and artificial intelligence community in a sustainable way around the four application areas.
